Ten Steps to becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor with Divers Incorporated

Becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor opens your world to opportunities you may not be able to comprehend.  Your adventure begins at one of our Divers Incorporated locations as we take you through the steps to becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

    1. The first step to becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor is to learn to scuba dive! Sign up for the PADI Open Water Scuba Diver course.  This course consists of an E-Learning component, Confined Water Sessions and six Open Water dives.  Your PADI Instructor will teach you the knowledge and skills required to become a safe and responsible entry level scuba diver. At Divers Incorporated, everything is included in one package price.

    2. GO DIVING!  Dive as often as possible!  You will meet other scuba divers with the same interests and experience different dive sites and unique creatures during your underwater adventures. We have opportunities almost every week to do something spectacular!

    3. Your next step is to jump right in to the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.  During this certification you will participate in some super fun Adventure Dives with your PADI Instructor including Peak Performance Buoyancy,  Navigation, Deep Diver and two other Adventure Dives .  Some of these dives you may be able to complete during your Open Water Diver course so you are well on your way.  Each of the dives is an introduction to the corresponding PADI Specialty course which gives you a “taste” of the varied types of diving that may peak your particular interests. Some of these interests may be in helping Dive Against Debris,  Underwater Photography or Shipwreck diving.  This will give you the ability to take your skills to the next level under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.

    4. Continuing on your next step is the PADI Rescue Diver Course. This course increases your outward focus to fellow scuba divers.  You will learn in-water rescue techniques as well as CPR and First Aid during the Emergency First Responder portion of the course.

5.Dive! Travel! Dive! And Get some more diving in!  We have lots of opportunities throughout the year

    6. Enroll in the PADI Divemaster course. This is your next step up the ladder and your first step in making scuba diving a career.  You will need to have logged 40 dives to be accepted into the program and by the end of the 10 day course you will need to have logged at least 60 dives.  During the PADI Divemaster course you will learn the basics of the PADI system, how to assist divers, work in the dive industry and prepare to attend the PADI Instructor Development Course.

    7. Prior to attending the PADI Instructor Development Course you will need to have held your Open Water certification for six months and logged 100 dives. This is the time to get experience in the water, on boats, assisting classes and assist the other staff and crew around one of our dive center. We even offer you opportunities to internship at some resorts around the country.

    8. Almost there now!  Schedule your PADI Instructor Development Course with Sea Experience and sign up for and complete the IDC E-Learning and the Dive Theory E-Learning.

    9. Attend the PADI Instructor Development Course and Emergency First Responder Instructor courses that are both offered by Divers Incorporated.

    10. The final step is to attend and pass the PADI Instructor Exam (IE).   Your PADI Course Director will have you prepared to pass the exam and to be a safe and effective scuba instructor.

Take your first step now by contacting Divers Incorporated and enrolling. Whatever your level we can make you better.   We are looking forward to working with you to become a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
